H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid receives President of International Volleyball Federation 21 May 2012
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, received President of International Volleyball Federation, Mr. Wei Jizhong, at Zabeel Palace, to be acquainted with the latest preparations for the Asian Volleyball Championship, Dubai 2013.
 
During the meeting, Mr. Wei Jizhong thanked H.H. Sheikh Hamdan on his continuous efforts in supporting the sports activities, particularly Volleyball, which resulted in hosting the Beach Volleyball Development Centre, the first centre of its kind all over the world, by UAE.
 
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan praised the agreement which has been signed in that regard by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the UAE Volleyball Association (UAEVA), and the National Olympic Committee.
 
Also, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan reviewed with Mr. Jizhong the role expected to be played by the Centre in developing Volleyball all over the world.
 
"The establishment of the centre in Dubai is a reflection of the high status of Dubai, its significant Geographical Location, its spacious and beautiful beaches, and its high-standard infrastructure", H.H. Sheikh Hamdan said. 
 
The meeting was attended by H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, Dr. Saleh Bin Nasser, President of Asian Volleyball Federation, Issa Hamza, Vice-President of Asian Volleyball Federation and a member of International Volleyball Federation, Amer Ali, President of UAE Volleyball Federation and a galaxy of high ranking officials.
