Within the Partnership Agreement signed by Montpellier (1) University and Hamdan Medical Award: 38 doctors entered the Final Exam of Regional Anesthesia and Analgesia Diploma 06 June 2012
Within the framework of the Partnership Agreement signed by Montpellier (1) University and Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, 38 Anesthetists from UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Switzerland, Cyprus, and Philippines entered the Final Exam of Regional Anesthesia and Analgesia Diploma, accredited by Montpellier (1) university, at the Conference Center in Dubai Knowledge Village.
 
Dr. Philippe Macaire, Senior Consultant in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Dubai Rashid Hospital and a Co-Director of the Diploma said that the overall level of the exam goes in line with the standards set by the University of Montpellier 1, France.
 
"The 40 questions of the exam included 20 theoretical ones beside questions on the analysis of clinical cases and sonograms and 4 general knowledge questions on that field of medicine", he said.
"Beside passing the Final Exam, students have to go through a 10-day clinical training course at Lapeyronie hospital, France, or at Dubai Rashid Hospital, which is officially certified by University of Montpellier (1) as the first World Training Centre for Anesthesiology in the Middle East", Dr. Philippe said.
 
"The registration in the third batch of the Diploma is scheduled to be opened in September, with dozens of doctors on the waiting list, and its scientific program is to start by early next year", he added.
 
After the examination, the students expressed their happiness by joining the Diploma which has contributed in enhancing their scientific knowledge in that specialty and in making the right decisions on the best drugs or techniques have to be used during surgeries or with patients with severe pain in certain parts of ??their bodies.
 
It should be noted that, currently, Hamdan Medical Award is preparing for holding Pediatric Anesthesia Diploma and Interventional Pain Therapies Diploma, accredited by Montpellier (1) University, later in Dubai.
