Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum: Hamdan Medical Award celebrates the graduates of Al-Maktoum College's "Multiculturalism and Leadership Program" 12 July 2012
Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences witnessed the ceremony held in Dundee, Scotland, to celebrate the graduates of the fourteenth batch of multiculturalism program and leadership skills, Al Maktoum College of Higher Education.
 
The Ceremony was attended by Prof. Najib Al Khaja, Secretary General of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, H.E. Mirza Al Sayegh, treasurer of the Award and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Maktoum College, alongside with H.E. Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al Mutaiwee, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom and a galaxy of Al Maktoum College officials and representatives of the participating universities.
 
During the ceremony, 40 female students were honored. The students are from seven universities in UAE including; United Arab Emirates University, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi University, British University in Dubai, American University of Sharjah, Higher Colleges of Technology (Dubai Women's College), and College of Islamic and Arabic Studies in Dubai in addition to Qatar University.
 
During the Ceremony, H.E. Mirza Al Sayegh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Maktoum Faculty of Higher Education, delivered a speech during which he praised the wise vision of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the President and the founder of the Faculty, who has given his directives to provide such scholarships to universities students.
 
"The total number of the program graduates has reached to 541 students who have acquired the leadership abilities, refined their communication skills and boosted their self-confidence in order to be able to meet the new global challenges", he said.
 
"The main theme of such successive courses, Multiculturalism and Leadership Skills, goes in line with the tremendous advances created by Globalization. Further skills and new ideas should be developed to manage the diversity and richness of civilization and culture prevailing all over the world", Al Sayegh said.
 
On the other hand, Prof. Najib Al Khaja praised laying the foundation stone of the mosque which is scheduled to be established on the campus of Al Maktoum College at the expense of Al Maktoum Foundation with a cost of up to £ million.
