H.E. Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammed Nasser Al Owais, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and Acting Minister of Health headed the 25th meeting of the Award's Board of Trustees at the Award's headquarter.

 

During the meeting, the achievements of the Award during its seventh term (2011-2012) were reviewed, and most notably signing the cooperation agreement between the Award and Montpellier University and launching Hamdan Medical Journal which keeps pace with the latest modern technology used in the electronic medical publishing.

 

The meeting reviewed the names of the winners of the 7th term of the Award (2011-2012) and the arrangements for the Ceremony to honor the awardees on December 10, 2012, with the attendance of the Patron of the Award H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai UAE Minister of Finance, and President of Dubai Health Authority. Also, the meeting discussed the arrangements which should be taken for the 7th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences which is scheduled to be held in conjunction with the ceremony on December 11 and 12 on the topics Neonatal Medicine, Fetal Medicine, Nutrition in Infancy and Inborn Errors of metabolism.

 

The meeting discussed the future plans of the Award including supporting ways of communication between the Award and the society members, particularly doctors, to enhance the role of the Award in supporting healthcare sectors locally, regionally and internationally.
