Hamdan Medical Award participates in the 3rd Emirates Cardiac Congress Exhibition 04 November 2012
Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (HMA) participated in the exhibition of the 3rd Annual Emirates Cardiac Society Congress 2012, with the participation of 25 specialized pharmaceutical and medical equipment companies, from the 1st to the 3rd of November 2012, at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Dubai.
 
Prof. Najib Al Khaja, Secretary General of HMA and the well-known heart surgeon, said: The participation in the exhibition was a good chance to support the ways of personal communication between the Award and 1000 Physicians and cardiologists from 31 countries all over the world, the conference attendees, and present them the various activities of the award’s centers which aim at developing medical services locally, regionally and internationally”.
 
“The scientific program of the conference was good. It dealt with many important issues such as Arrhythmias and Sudden Cardiac Death, CVS (Cardiovascular Systems) and Heart Failure and the latest technologies for diagnosis and treatment as well as surgeries”, Prof. Al Khaja added.
 
During his opening speech in the conference, H.E. Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director-General, Dubai Health Authority and Vice-Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees, said that UAE has made significant progress in detecting and managing heart diseases, cardiovascular disease (CVD) is still the leading cause of death in UAE, as 25 per cent of all deaths in the UAE are attributed to heart disease.
 
"We have completely modernized our cardiology departments in DHA hospitals. Our cardiology departments have highly qualified doctors, the latest equipment and state-of-the-art technology to ensure we provide care to patients at par with international standards", H.E. Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid added.
