In the framework of the preparations for the Award Ceremony: Hamdan Medical Award discusses supporting ways of cooperation with the embassies of the winners’ countries 14 November 2012
Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, held an expanded meeting with H.E. Emad Bin Adnan Madani, Consul General, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the headquarters of the consulate in Dubai.
 
The two parties discussed supporting ways of cooperation, within the framework of the preparations for the Award Ceremony of the 7th term of the Award 2011-2012 on the 10th of December at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in the presence of the patron of the Award H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Health Authority.
 
Abdullah Bin Souqat praised the close relationships between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, indicating that the meeting was held on the occasion of the two awards devoted to the kingdom at the seventh term of the Award. While, H.E. Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, KSA Minister of Health has won Hamdan Award for distinguished personalities in the Arab world, Prince Salman Center for Disability Research has won Hamdan Award for Medical College / Institute or centre in the Arab World.
 
During the meeting, Bin Souqat congratulated H.E. Consul General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on that great achievement. They discussed the protocols of receiving the Saudi winners and their accompanied delegations, in addition to the ceremony invitations to the Saudi people who live in the United Arab Emirates.
 
“During the meeting, H.E. Consul General, KSA, has praised the important role played by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in promoting and improving communities locally, regionally and internationally at economic, social and cultural levels, through His Highness distinct auspices of a group of important awards including Medical Sciences Award, Distinguished Academic Performance Award, UNESCO-Hamdan Bin Rashid Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers, and Dubai International Award for Best Practices. He pointed out that honoring excellence in the sectors of health, education and environment is an important component of supporting the march of development and progress”, Bin Souqat said.
 
“I have briefed H.E. Consul General, KSA, on the details of the Award Ceremony and the 7th Dubai International Conference of Medical Sciences, which will be held in conjunction with the ceremony on Neonatal and Fetal medicine, Nutrition in Infancy and Inborn Errors of metabolism (10 - 12 December)”, Bin Souqat added.
 
It is worth mentioning that during the Award Ceremony, 21 winners will be honored in 3 categories including International Awards, Arab world Awards and UAE Awards. Also, the winners of Hamdan Award for Honoring Individuals Working in the Field of Medicine & Health within UAE will be announced.
