The Award Ceremony and the sessions of the 7th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences to be broadcast Live via the Internet 05 December 2012
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences Announced that the Closing Ceremony of the 7th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences will also be the Opening Ceremony of the 9th Middle East Metabolic Group Meeting, which will be held from 12 -14 December at JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai. This meeting, to be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Health Authority, will feature speakers from the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Turkey, Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France and Canada.
 
Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director, Hamdan Medical Award (HMA) said that the Award is eager to cooperate with professionals in the medical fields all over the world. He also pointed out to the valuable closing session of the 7th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences which was chosen to be the opening session of the 9th Middle East Metabolic Conference. This session includes many important lectures, especially the lecture by Professor Ronald Wanders. He is the winner of the Hamdan Award for Medical Research Excellence on the topic of “Inborn Errors of Metabolism”. His lecture discusses the topic of a changing world of neonatal screening, with special reference to exome sequencing.
 
“The Award Ceremony and the 7th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences (10-12 December) will be broadcast live via the Internet through the Award website and Balsam TV channel. The Award is keen on reaching to the largest possible number of physicians, medical students and professionals in health sectors all over the world. So, those who are not lucky enough to attend the conference will also be able to be updated with the latest research papers in the field of Neonatal and Fetal Medicine, Nutrition in Infancy and Inborn Errors of metabolism”, Bin Souqat added.
 
“Also, exclusive interviews with the winners of the 7th term of Hamdan Medical Award will be broadcast in order to highlight their great efforts, individuals and institutions, over the years”, Bin Souqat added.
 
The live broadcast will cover a series of workshops on Neonatal Resuscitation, Antenatal Detection of Congenital Heart Diseases, Successful Weaning and Extubation, Emergency Management of Inborn Errors of Metabolism in the Newborn Period, Treatment of Fetal Infection, Epigenetics, Biochemistry of the Newborn and Pre-mature Infant Implications for Treatment and Management, Multiple Pregnancies, Evidence Base for Various Neonatal Screening Programs and Nutritional Support of the Extremely Low Birth Weight Neonate.
 
Also, 16 lectures will be broadcast on Fetal Surgery, Optimal O2 Saturation, Sonographic Approach for Antenatal Detection of Congenital Heart Diseases, Preeclampsia and Maternal Cardiac Function, Short Bowel Syndrome, Infant Feeding and the Risk of Later Obesity, Metabolism in the Neonatal Period, and DNA Testing in 2012.
