Hamdan Award for Volunteers in Humanitarian Medical Services
This award will be presented to four individuals “personalities or organizations (doctors or others)” who provide important voluntary services and who significantly contribute to alleviating the suffering of a large number of human beings subjected to exceptional circumstances such as catastrophes، epidemics، famine، wars and natural calamities.
 
The prize amount is AED Three hundred thousand (AED 300,000) (Approx. US$ 82,000) to be awarded to 4 winners، 2 individuals will receive AED Fifty Thousand each (AED 50,000) (Approx. US$ 13,500) and 2 institutions will receive AED One Hundred Thousand each (AED 100,000) (Approx.US$ 27,000).
 
Rules and Regulations
  • Humanitarian Medical Organizations and Volunteers active in the field for at least 5 years shall only be considered (administrative personnel shall not be considered).
  • Each organization/Individual shall nominate a maximum of three volunteers.
  • Nomination papers/work submitted to the Executive Office shall not be returned to the applicants, whether or not the nominees win the Award.
  • The Executive Office of the Award reserves the right to grant the award to more than one person in the appropriate category and also reserves the right to change or alter any conditions without stating any reasons.
  • The nomination will not be accepted if it does not meet the above all conditions
  • The nomination file must contain the following:
    1. Nominee name
    2. Nominating body
    3. Nomination letter: A letter of nomination from the Nominating body supporting the nomination.
    4. Justification: Evidence showing that the nominated person/ organization is outstanding and has significantly contributed to alleviate human suffering. Include all supporting evidence such as field reports, peer and external reports.
    5. Awards & recognitions if any: Previous awards, honors, received by the nominee (Please state the name, nature, source, and date of each.
    6. Curriculum Vitae/ institute profile: Details of the nominee's background, experience, and a detailed account of all the executed projects and voluntary work, he/she has been involved in.
    7. Color photograph. For organization: Hi resolution logo, For individual: color photographs.
    8. A write up: Nominee’s profile should not exceeding 1500 words.
  • The winner's name(s) will be announced in a Press conference to be held in Dubai and the Award will be presented in an official ceremony also to be held in Dubai
  • The winners (or representatives of winning organizations) shall be provided with return business class air ticket, accommodation and visa to attend the Award Presentation Ceremony.
  • The Award shall consist of:
  • A trophy with the winner's name.
  • A certificate in the winner's name.
